Holidays part II

Hello everyone and welcome to part 2 of my holidays =)

Day 4, Wednesday the 26th October 2016

On Wednesday, we got up early because we wanted to do a bicycle tour in the Killarney National Park. Before that we had breakfast which was included in our booking but it wasn’t worth it.

In the hostel was a kitchen with a toaster, some pieces of toast and some marmalade. We had to make everything ourselves and wash our dishes ourselves as well. That was another thing we weren’t really happy about but anyway.

We rented bicycles in a shop and the shop owner gave us a map and coloured the tours we could do. The map was bad, and that was not because of my bad sense of direction! We decided to do the tour based on our feeling of direction therefore we first rode along the National Park for a while, then we went in there and suddenly we had an amazing view on the Lough Leane, it’s the largest lake of Killarney. Our target was a tour past the Muckross House and Abbey and around the Muckross Lake. But as it started to rain we decided not to do the whole tour. We rode back and did a little detour to the Ross Castle, it's a 15th-century tower house and keep on the edge of Lough Leane. I'll let the pictures speak...

Day 5, Thursday the 27th October 2016

Dingle-Tour day =)

Via the tourist office in Killarney we booked a day tour with the Paddywagon to the Dingle Peninsula. The Dingle Peninsula is the northernmost of the major peninsulas in County Kerry. It ends beyond the town of Dingle at Dunmore Head, the westernmost point of Ireland and arguably Europe.

Our tour started at 11 o’clock and the first stop was the Inch Beach. The Inch Beach is one of the most famous beaches in Ireland and it actually was really beautiful. Although the weather wasn’t really good, the atmosphere was amazing. We could spend 20 minutes there to take some pictures and enjoy the sand and then we went on. We drove along the most westerly drive in Europe known as the Slea Head drive. And we did a short stop where we had a great view on the Blasket Islands and the Sleeping Giant Island. Our last stop was Dingle town. It is a little village with a looooooooooot of souvenir shops and it was very tempting to spend a lot of money there =) But we really enjoyed the tour!

Day 6, Friday the 28th October 2016

Friday was travel day. We took the dublin coach from Killarney back to Dublin. Our bus left at 11.30 and we arrived at around 4.30 pm in Dublin. As our hostel was kind of uncomfortable we decided to grant us a good hotel in Dublin and we chose the Holiday Inn Express. It is a new and modern Hotel near the spire. After we had checked in, we went out for dinner. I was very looking forward to it because we met Sophie and Ramon who had done the same apprenticeship as I had and they spent a view days in Dublin. We had our dinner in the “Old Storehouse” where I have already been a view times before and as there was live music it was full of people and the atmosphere was grand!
